About the Author
Ilana Dover is a Montessori teacher and the owner and director of San Jose Montessori School in San Jose, California. In addition to her Montessori diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale, she holds a Masters of Science degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. In her work she has found that stories of real people’s struggles and achievements are fascinating and inspiring to children. They also provide opportunity to discuss and highlight character traits and values which can guide a child’s choices and actions. Ilana is the author of An Airplane is Born: The Story of the Wright Brothers’ Experiments and Invention, and The Talking Machine: The Story of Alexander Graham Bell, which are the first two books in the Real Heroes series. An Airplane is Born is available on Amazon.com.
